The Team

Healthy Eating Solutions Ltd was founded in 2009 with our roots firmly planted in the delivery of expert healthy eating and nutritional advice. We have a compelling drive to interpret and promote the science of nutrition to enable individuals to make informed choices and thus making healthy eating easier.

Based in both Nottingham and Manchester we will travel to your location to inspire your audience.

Founder and director – Rupert’s interest in nutrition was ignited whilst studying his BTEC Sports Science Diploma. Once he completed his BTEC, he went on to graduate from Nottingham Trent University (BSc hons Food and Nutrition) and the University of Sheffield (MMedSci Human Nutrition). He is currently a member of the Nutrition Society.

Prior to founding Healthy Eating Solutions Ltd, he worked for several years as a community nutritionist for the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (LNDS) Primary Care Trust. His duties involved devising and delivering initiatives on the Food and Activities Buddies (FAB) weight management programme.

He is a visiting lecturer at several colleges and universities discussing and offering an insight in his career journey as a nutritionist.  He is also actively involved in healthy cooking community projects and a registered Level 2 Food Safety trainer. Additionally, he works as a healthy lifestyle tutor for Workers Educational Association (WEA) and Nottinghamshire County Council Inspire and is an active voluntary director of The Vine Community Centre, Hyson Green, Notingham.

Rupert is ardent believer in being physically and mentally active and basing food choices on plant-based foods to reduce your risk of dietary-related illnesses.  He has an in-depth knowledge of the components of healthy eating, African-Caribbean diet and an assoicate director of BME Cancer Communities. He has regularly appeared on live radio broadcasts sharing his knowledge, opinions, answering questions and commenting on topical nutritional issues.

Whilst competing on the BBC’s Pointless quiz programme, Alexander Armstrong asked my advice on healthy eating.  I suggested, Rupert’s Rule- 80/20. Put plainly, the Rupert’s Rule promotes choosing to eat healthy foods and drinks for  80% of the time, which then allows you to indulge 20% of the time.
